Smitha Sonnie — Mother of Annita & Trissa

Growing up, through school & college, I remember that Maths was the only subject I was never scared of or worried about. It required the least effort & I loved it. This was the same case with my husband whose mom was a Maths teacher. So, when it came to my elder daughter struggling to understand even the basic concepts of Maths that were apparently 'taught' in school, I knew something had to change.

My husband & I couldn't help enough because as it turns out, knowing something & being able to teach it are two very different things. Sheloney Ma'm was our Godsend. To think I was lucky enough to find a XYO center in the neighborhood right when we were going through the 'Maths crisis' at home still blows my mind. It was undeniably the turning point in the Maths journey of both my kids.

My elder daughter Annita transformed from the clueless, counting on digits type of kid to the confident, Maths savvy girl who started applying the same confidence in other subjects such as Science — prompting her to write NSO & clear certain levels. Maths concepts also helped her ace Physics later on. She scored an overall of 96.4% in her 10th grade with 99% for Maths & 91% for Physics.

Needless to say, this would not have been so easy (it may have been possible but definitely not so easy) without our dear Sheloney Ma'm. And I don't use the term 'dear' loosely here. She definitely is dear to us. XYO & Sheloney Ma'm not only focused on Mathematics. They made sure to look at the all-round growth of my kids. I have approached Sheloney Ma'm for help & advice on learning Science, picking the right syllabus & coaching, picking the right subjects to suit her, developing her character skills, developing her language skills & much more. Sheloney Ma'm has actually spent a lot of extra time talking to me & my child on the choices in my child's life while continuously encouraging her.

Now as my younger daughter, Trissa, has joined Sheloney Ma'm on her journey with Maths, I can see the same transformation unfolding — from being unable to even count correctly on her fingers, she aces mental maths & even coaches others in class. All her friends tell her it's unbelievable how she knows all the answers for such a 'tough' subject. This in a matter of less than 2 years.

XYO has provided the platform to continuously & systematically work on the analytical & logical thinking abilities for my kids. The teachers — both Sheloney Ma'm & Shalini Ma'm (who has stepped in many times in Sheloney Ma'm's absence) are both very capable & empathetic teachers. They are patient, kind & engaging — which is what kids need today. Needless to say, they are also experts at the subject & the art of teaching it to others. I'm grateful for all the efforts & to God for leading me to XYO. I wish them continued success.

Trissa Sonnie — XYO Student (4 years)

"Initially I was not confident at Maths. I got average marks in Maths (like 8 out of 20). My father, mother and I thought I could do much better at Maths. They often told me that Maths was a topic I could get full marks in at my age. They told me that maybe it was the practice or the guidance that I lacked. Then they sent me to XYO.

Now I was in XYO. Miss Sheloney was my teacher. I quickly knew how to work on XYO. I gradually became better and got full marks! This made me really happy. I would think how I was at the starting versus how I am now. XYO really changed my maths from tough to easy. She also kept telling that I am capable. She also did new topics that I didn't do at school so I would get a head start later.

Now-a-days my friends are really fascinated by how I do math. I even help people to solve sums. I think XYO helped me a lot and I am glad I go for XYO."

Rathin Ghivari

Rathin Ghivari

IIT Gandhinagar

XYO student from Grade 6 to Grade 10

Rathin's Father

XYO built his basics. They taught him to focus on stress-free studies without going after the marks. They built his fundamentals for the results we see today.

Rathin's Mother

The guidance and math, science tricks given by teachers at XYO helps the students to solve any problem. Rote learning is not practiced at XYO. Instead the teachers promote analytical thinking and help the students develop problem solving skills.

The faculty is well aware of the different type of exams, their type of questions and the way to prepare for them. The batch sizes are optimum for learning and the teachers are dedicated to improve the students' performance in Olympiads as well as school exams.

XYO student from Grade 4 to Grade 10

Mamatha — Jayadeep's Mother

XYO Olympiad provided the best coaching in terms of concepts, practice and time management which is essential for competitive exams. We are glad we sent our son to XYO as it helped him achieve international ranks in NSO, IMO and scored perfect centum in Maths CBSE 10th board exams.

As a parent I am happy that not only academics, you also groomed his personality. Thank you.

Aparna Marar

Aparna Marar

IISER, Thiruvananthapuram

XYO student from Grade 6 to Grade 10

Aparna's Mother

Aparna went from a student who scores 75% in Maths to a student who scores 100 percent. XYO gave her a combination of concepts plus practice. When she joined her coaching from grade 11 and 12, they were surprised at how she does so well in Maths. For this I will give full credit to XYO.

Aparna's Father

The competition with other kids helped Aparna to open up. She started enjoying the subject rather than worry about it. Also overall her approach to all subjects improved. Her education took a turn for the better.

Pranav Sinha

Pranav Sinha
